Lot description
Carmen (Paramount, 1918). Norwegian One Sheet (24.75" X 37"). Cecil B. DeMille's adaptation of Prosper Mérimée's novella, Carmen, stars Geraldine Farrar as the title temptress. She's a gypsy girl out to seduce Done Jose (Wallace Reid), an officer of the law, in order for her to keep her band of smugglers from being caught. Artist Niels Pedersen Rohder (1895-1969) depicted the bewitching Carmen poised against a sun-drenched Andalusian bullring. Light stains in the top section and a bottom right corner chip are the only signs of handling. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
