Gunnar Nylund was a Swedish ceramic designer and artist associated with several important Scandinavian manufacturers and workshops. He worked at Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen from 1925 to 1928, then established a ceramics workshop with chemist Nathalie Krebs. That workshop became Saxbo in 1930 and continued producing his stoneware until 1932. Nylund joined Rörstrand in 1931 and remained there until 1955, serving for much of that period as artistic director. His work is particularly associated with stoneware, matte feldspar surfaces, hare's-fur effects, crystalline glazes, and ceramic animal sculptures.
