How to identify silver coins
A silver-colored coin is not always a silver coin. Start with country, denomination, date, mint mark, metal standard, weight, edge, condition, and any holder label before estimating value.

- Check whether it is a silver dollar, dime, quarter, half dollar, bullion coin, foreign coin, medal, or jewelry component.
- Look for certification, cleaning, scratches, corrosion, rim damage, and artificial toning.
