Sold comps before you buy, price or consign
Photograph the object and Lotbook finds comparable auction sales: sale dates, hammer prices, auction houses and source links, with notes on why each sale matches. Drop a chart into a listing or a client email, and keep the trail on the object’s case.
Where it fits. Buying: Check what similar pieces sold for before you make an offer. Pricing and listing: Set an asking price from sold results rather than other dealers’ asking prices, and export a chart or CSV for the listing. Consigning: Decide whether a piece belongs at auction, and which comparable sales to show when you place it. Client conversations: Send a chart of dated sales with source links instead of a bare number.
What each Lotbook case contains. Comparable auction sales: Each comparable shows its sale date, price, auction house and a link to the source listing. Prices stay in the source currency, and the price basis (hammer or with premium) is shown when the source records it. Match notes and limitations: Notes say why each sale was kept, and the packet states what the set cannot support, such as a thin market or a weak match. Charts you can export: Price and sales-over-time charts export as PNG, SVG, PDF or CSV. Enter your own figure to see where it sits among the sales. A PDF workfile: Every case produces a PDF workfile with the comparables, charts, notes and limitations. A saved research trail: Photos, notes and evidence stay on one case, so you can come back to it without starting over.
How it works. 1. Upload: Add photos of the object, plus maker, marks, size or provenance notes when you have them. 2. Review: Read the comparable sales, match notes and limitations. Keep what fits and set aside what does not. 3. Use: Export the charts or CSV, and keep the PDF workfile with the job.
Start free. The preview is anonymous and does not use a report credit. The 7-day trial includes 1 report and needs no card.
Limits. Lotbook is research. It does not sign, certify or state a value conclusion for you. Lotbook organizes the market evidence you choose to keep; you remain responsible for your report, your price and the standards that apply to them. Every comparable shows its sale date. Check how current the set is before you rely on it. Lot images are not always shown. Open the source link to see the original listing.
Questions
Are these sold prices or asking prices?
Sold. Comparables are auction results with a sale date and a link to the source listing. Prices stay in their original currency, with the price basis shown when the source records it.
How current are the comps?
Every comparable shows its sale date, so you can judge how current the set is before you rely on it.
Is this an appraisal?
No. Lotbook is research for your own buying and pricing decisions. It does not issue a signed appraisal. If a buyer or insurer needs one, that is a separate signed report.
Can I share what I find?
Yes. Export charts as PNG, SVG, PDF or CSV, or share the PDF workfile.
How many objects can I run?
The preview is anonymous and does not use a report credit. The 7-day trial includes 1 report and needs no card. After the trial, Core includes 100 Lotbook reports a month and Growth includes 1,000. Both can be billed monthly or annually; current prices are on the plans page.
