Afincado en España desde mediados de los años sesenta, se incorporó a la generación que en esos años marcó la renovación de las artes plásticas, desempeñando un papel fundamental, lo que le valió el Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas en 1991. Se formó en pintura en la Escuela de Graz, y en escultura en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Viena. En 1966 se instala en España, donde comienza a canalizar todas sus inquietudes hacia la expresión plástica, en especial la escultura.
